Mimi Hauenstein

Mimi was first introduced to stillness and silence as a young child while attending a Quaker school. She eagerly began each school day seated at a small desk in stillness and quiet. Later, as an 18- year-old college student, she began practicing hatha yoga. Over the ensuing 55 years she has practiced many types of yoga including Kundalini, Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, and has completed all nine ParaYoga teacher trainings. During the pandemic, Mimi took the Vishoka Meditation Course with the Himalayan Institute, continuing on to become a Certified Vishoka Meditation Teacher in 2023. Mimi continues to deepen and expand her own Vishoka Meditation practice, has completed the Vishoka Meditation Self-Mastery Series and looks forward to further study and practice. With deep gratitude for Pandit Rajmani Tigunait and the teachers at HI, Mimi’s intention is to share this profound and accessible technique of this living tradition with others.

"Once I had experienced the beautifully sequenced and guided technique of Vishoka Mediation, I wanted to share it with others. My study of Vishoka Mediation at the Himalayan Institute has opened me to a whole new way of experiencing both the inner and outer world."
